Mrs. Vetten began training at our dojo in 2015 with her oldest son.  She is currently a Yon (4th) Dan/Degree Black Belt in our Okinawan Isshinryu Karate and Kobudo System.  Her father had also studied Isshinryu under one of its foremost Masters leading her to follow in his footsteps.  One of our dojo’s best, she devotes herself to inspiring/empowering our students to achieve great things and be people with good hearts and strong character. She does this through personal example, using our Isshin principles.  She assists in teaching both our children’s and teen/adult classes. Moreover, Mrs. Vetten in 2024 was selected by the International Isshinryu (Karate) Hall of Fame as one of its top 5 Karate Ka/Students of the Year in the adult female category.

 

Outside of the dojo, Karen and husband of 16 years are the parents to four boys.  She is an accountant as well as an affiliate marketer.
