
Sensei Kent Cumberton
Sensei Cumberton holds a 7th Degree (Master) Black Belt ranking in the Isshinryu Karate & Kobudo System, a 2nd Degree Black Belt rating in Korean Tae Kwon Do and a 1st Degree Black Belt rating in Japanese Yoshukai Karate.

An experienced former boxer and kickboxer with 47 years of experience, Sensei Cumberton’s teaching style strongly employs the core basics of the Okinawan Isshinryu style, while adding a modern sporting edge to the free sparring component and elevating the Kata to a higher level of presentation. Self-respect, respect for others and self-defense are stressed. Sensei Cumberton tailors his teaching style to the individual needs of his students, while helping them grow to better themselves as people. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Georgia and a Master’s Degree from Georgia State University.​

Sensei Cumberton teaches children's and teen/adult classes. He is also our primary Competition Class instructor, leading our students to excel in their katas and sparring techniques in preparation for competitions.
